Description
Per the World Bank food security is achieved when "all people at people, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient safe and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life." Food insecurity occurs when people lack sufficient availability and access to and utilization of safe and nutritious food and/or when they people's food availablility, access, and utilization varies. This course will consider the relationships between food and health and explore how food (in)security impacts public health both on its own and as part of other health issues and conditions.
