Description

This course emphasizes the interplay between microorganisms and humans, including infectious diseases and the immune system. There is an emphasis on the control of microbial growth, modes of transmission and spread of microorganisms, and the ability of microorganisms to cause disease and circumvent the immune system. The course will include current topics and areas of ongoing concern and address the role of nurses in daily public health and in public health crises. The course includes a laboratory component.
