Description

Prerequisite: SOC 101 or permission of instructor - "With a focus on diversity, rather than merely perceived negatives of group differences, this class focuses on both the micro- and macro-levels of society to critically examine various forms of discrimination. Forms based on age, sex, gender, race/ethnicity, social class, weight, sexual orientation, and (dis)ability status are analyzed with frequent student input. Mechanism of creating maintaining, and potentially reducing negative attitudes and inequlities are explored."
