Description
The overall goal of this course is to provide future public health practitioners with the necessary knowledge and skills for the evidence-based development and effective delivery of public health programs (or interventions) for targeted populations. Specific topics that will be covered in the course include: identifying health disparities and target populations by working with the community, identifying evidence-based intervention strategies, cultural competency, program planning tools (such as logic models) and managing program resources (time, money, personnel, etc.). Because the most effective pogram evaluation plans are developed concurrently with the program design process, this course will touch on some of the important things to consider for program evaluation as they relate to the program design process. However, program evaluation is not the primary focus on this course.
