Description
The World Health Organization (WHO) states: "Clean air, stable climate, adequate water, sanitation and hygiene, safe use of chemicals, protection from radiation, healthy and safe workplaces, sound agricultural practices, health-supportive cities and built environments, and a preserved nature are all prerequisites for good health." Using a social determinants of health ecological framework, this class explores the many components of environmental health. Students will identify various environmental health hazards, recognize environmental health issues resulting from human activities, and consider strategies to improve environmental health.
