Description

In this course, students will (1) analyze their own attitudes toward caring for older adults; (2) examine issues and trends related to the health and quality of life of older adults at the local, national, and global levels; (3) contrast normal physiologic changes of aging with changes related to acute and chronic illness/injury; (4) apply standardized tools to assess physiologic, psychological, mental, developmental, social, cultural, and spiritual functioning of older adults; (5) apply the nursing process in the care of older adults with multisystem and/or multidimensional acute and chronic health problems; and (6) develop health educational materials directed to the unique health concerns of older adults.
