Description
This course introduces the student to the trends, challenges, and ever-changing dynamics of community health nursing and population-focused nursing practice. The coursework builds upon the clinical knowledge of the Registered Nurse and explores strategies and interventions for nurses to implement in an effort to improve the health of the communities they serve, while minimizing chronic disease burden, disability, and death. Students will explore the various facets of community health nursing and analyze how these aspects intertwine to affect the health of the overall population.
