This course presents an overview of healthcare informatics and the vital role that technology holds in the current American healthcare system. It provides students with a foundation of healthcare informatics, health information technology, and analysis of healthcare data. The goal of this course is to provide students with practical knowledge of healthcare informatics and technological resources that can be utilized to improve patient safety and quality outcomes in the nursing profession through an interdisciplinary approach.
