Description

This course is primarily designed for non-majors and will familiarize them with topics from general, organic, and biochemistry. Particular attention will be given to how chemistry is used in everyday life. Examples might include how sun screen/sun block products work, why products contain specific ingredients, how drugs interact with the human body, and new approaches to treating cancer. Special efforts will be made to familiarize the non-majors with principles and nomenclature used by chemists. Labs will deal with the study of various physical and chemical changes and concepts related to such changes.
